WHISPERS IN THE LANTERN LIGHT
By Vera Von Monika
Lanterns sway above a quiet street,
amber spilling over broken cobblestones.
Every shadow moves like a secret,
every step echoes a heartbeat I cannot forget.
A breeze carries the scent of distant rain,
soft as the memory of your touch.
The night hums your name
between the spaces of what was
and what might still be.
Even in silence,
you are a song,
folding over itself,
untamed, infinite,
a fire that refuses to burn out.
