BETWEEN SHADOWS

By Vera Von Monika

I trace the curve of your absence,
fingertips brushing the memory of you.
Heat lingers where you were,
and the night hums with what we can’t speak.

Breath catches in stolen pauses,
a rhythm I cannot control.
Every look, every touch
folds me deeper into your gravity.

Desire drips like molten glass,
fragile, dangerous, unrelenting.
I crave the ache, the fire,
the trembling that makes me human.

We collide in silent spaces,
our bodies writing what words cannot,
and when you vanish into the dark,
I am left burning, wanting, undone.

Raindrops tap against the window,
syncing with the pulse of my heart.
Smoke curls from my restless thoughts,
filling the empty corners you left behind.

Bullets of memory strike in rhythm,
sharp, sudden, unforgettable.
I fold them into the ache,
carve them into a melody of you.

I whisper your name to the shadows,
a confession to the night,
and even as the silence swells,
I feel you bending every part of me.

Here, in the dark, I am both lost and found,
every heartbeat a map to your presence,
every sigh a proof that I am alive
because I still want you,
still need you,
still burn for you.
