UNSENT POEMS

By Vera Von Monika

Verse 1
I keep your letters folded in my chest,
Ink bleeding secrets I’ll never confess.
Every line a ghost, tracing my skin,
Every word a spark I can’t let dim.

Pre-Chorus
You haunt the spaces I pretend to forget,
Your silence louder than I can admit.
I reach for the edges of who we were,
But time folds me back, unheard, unheard.
Chorus
These unsent poems are my only fire,
Burning in the dark, feeding desire.
Every unread line, every quiet scream,
Carves your shadow deep inside my dreams.

Verse 2
I trace the shape of the nights we erased,
A map of the moments I can’t yet face.
The echoes of your voice still steal the light,
Turning my calm into a restless tide.

Bridge
I want to write you into the sky,
A constellation no one can deny.
But every star I trace falls too soon,
Leaving me bare beneath the moon.

Outro
So I fold the words, let them remain,
A quiet storm I cannot contain.
Unsent poems, unsaid, unseen,
Still the loudest thing I’ve ever been.
