MIDNIGHT TRAIN

By Vera Von Monika

Verse 1
The station breathes beneath silver light,
Empty platforms stretching through the night.
Your shadow moves where I cannot reach,
Every step carries what I cannot speak.

The whistle cuts through mist and glass,
Moments vanish, impossible to grasp.
I fold my hands, press my chest,
Hoping the distance lets us rest.

Pre-Chorus
Smoke rises from the engine’s spine,
Carrying echoes of the life left behind.
I press my palms against the dark, unseen,
And hold the space of what might have been.

Chorus
Midnight train, take me to you,
Through city lights and skies of deepest blue.
Every track a memory, every wheel a sigh,
Racing against hours that pass us by.

Verse 2
Rain streaks the window, soft and slow,
Each drop a rhythm only we could know.
The world slides past in blurred neon streams,
I chase the trace of you in my dreams.

Hands against glass, hearts torn apart,
Distance writes a quiet rhythm on my heart.
If night could bend, or time could break,
I’d steal a moment, just for our sake.

Bridge
The whistle fades into the coming dawn,
But my heart rides on, never gone.
Each station passed, each shadow cast,
Draws me closer to you, to the past.

Final Chorus
Midnight train, bring me near,
Through every fear, through every tear.
Every track a story, every wheel a flame,
Take me to you, call out my name.

Outro
Rails pulse beneath the silver moon,
And I wait for night to carry me to you.
